All therapists are required per their license to obtain ongoing training or CEU’s. (continuing education units). These can be achieved in a variety of ways from coursework, conferences/lectures, writing and publication, public speaking. Until recently, therapists were not required to submit proof of these credits. Currently Social workers are required to submit proof while Licensed counselors still are not. As a result, therapists did not always follow though on actually completing the required hours of training to maintain their license.
The following is a list of credits and dates of my dedication to continuing education: (this is not a complete list)
Also note that courses during my doctoral program (1994-1998) satisfied continuing education credits.
